Joanina Library Mug

Ceramic mug with the design of the Joanina Library by João Abel Mota " View from the 1st wing facing away from the portal".

Located in the Páteo das Escolas, the Joanina Library is named in honor and memory of the King who had it built in 1717 and whose painted portrait of D. João V de Dominique Dupra, dominates space.

The space receives the first books in 1750 and currently contains around 60,000 books, among which stands out the first edition of: “Os Lusíadas” by Luís Vaz de Camões, among other rare works.
