The Morcego collection is inspired by the bat colony that resides in the Joanina Library of the University of Coimbra.

Bats play a vital role in the preservation of books and manuscripts in space, as it is this bat colony that feeds on insects at night, which could attack books, and therefore plays an active role in controlling paper moths. .
